Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #75

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
We are anticipating that the day will bring us an interesting snow/rain mixture.  It was raining a few hours ago and not it has turned to a very wet rain/snow mix.  We are supposed to get 10 cm of snow over night and some more in the morning.  We shall see if there is school or not!

I am fighting a cold right now and am a little tired...cannot wait to get to bed tonight!

Today's brand new and fabulous sketch at Freshly Made Sketches comes from the incredibly talented Tui Nathan!  I do love this sketch so very much!

I recently decided to cave and purchase the Pleasant Poppies stamp set.  I have learned that I CANNOT colour...I try and try but my colouring always looks like my 6 year old did it!  I have had many incredibly talented stampers offer to help me but they all live SO far away!  Maybe one day I'll be able to have a proper colouring lesson!!!  That aside, since I can't colour I had to stamp these beautiful poppies on some real red and fussy cut them out!!!  I threw some bling in there and called it a day!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red
Stamps: Pleasant Poppies, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Real Red Taffeta Ribbon, Bitty Banners Framelits, Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you take a minute to check out the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see the other beautiful cards the Design Team has created for you!

Have a great day!

Deconstructed Sketch

Hello!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!  I attended a baby shower today for a friend's sister.  She's having a little boy but she is very girly!  I wanted to make her a card that was vintage and girly but still boyish.  I have recently discovered The Deconstructed Sketch and wanted to play along this week!

I had ordered the soda pop tops a while ago and hadn't used them yet.  Since this card wasn't going in the mail I wanted to give them a try!  I decided to use the Tea for Two DSP since it fit my vintage/girly/boyish theme!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Island Indigo
DSP: Tea for Two
Stamps: Collage Curios, Itty Bitty Banners, Hearts a Flutter
Ink: So Saffron, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Crumb Cake
Other: 1" Circle Punch, Basic Pearls, Island Indigo Ribbon, Bitty Banners Framelits Dies, Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies, Soda Pop Tops, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a great rest of your weekend!

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #74

Hello and Happy Wednesday!
I can't believe it's Wednesday already!  What a day Tuesday was!  I'm looking forward to the end of the week already!  Hopefully I'll get a few minutes on the weekend for some crafting!!!

Wednesday brings us a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches!  This week's hostess is the one and only (and very creative) Allisa Chilton!  She has a fabulous sketch for us this week!  I was a little panicked at first but then I remembered that I wanted to haul out my Medallion stamp and voila!
I have a new found love for Basic Grey!  Don't ask me why...I just love it!  I got out the very well used white embossing powder, my new and favourite Stampin' Distress Tool and some pearls!  I realize now that I put my pearls in the wrong spot...oops!  My birthday card stash is slowly becoming replenished!  Now to add some sympathy and baby cards to the mix!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Grey
Stamps: Medallion, Apothecary Art (Sentiment)
Ink: Versamark
Other: White Embossing Powder, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, Stampin' Distress Tool

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you're able to head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to see all of the other beautiful creations!

Have a fantastic day!

Celebrate!

Hello!
I hope everyone had a great long weekend!  Most of us here in Ontario enjoyed Family Day weekend and our friends south of the border hopefully enjoyed a great President's Day!  Our family enjoyed a morning at home.  Trevor took the boys outside to play while I got some cleaning done.  In the afternoon we went to our church skate!  Jacob (who is just learning to skate) did amazing!  We were so proud of him!

Okay, I had a few minutes in my craft room this weekend!  The sad thing is that a good chunk of that time was spent cleaning my disastrous craft room!  It looks so much better though!

I wanted to make a card for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge.  I have a slight shortage of birthday cards so I wanted to stock up!  I know this card doesn't exactly fit the requirements.  I added some silver glimmer paper in there as well!  I tried to stick to just black, white and the melon mambo BUT the card lacked something so I added in the glimmer!

I love the new Secret Garden Stamp set! You may see a lot of that lately!!!  I used the die to cut out the big flower then hand cut the other two layers!  I used black embossing powder to make the flower stand out a little more.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Silver Glimmer
Stamps: Secret Garden, Topsy Turvy
Ink: Basic Black, Versamark
Other: Black Embossing Powder, Basic Rhinestone, Two-Step Bird Punch, Secret Garden Framelits Dies, Lacy Brocade Textured Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be back tomorrow!!!

Freshly Made Sketches #72

Hello!
Happy Wednesday!!!  It's been one of those weeks!  I hope you're having a great week so far!  I'm already looking forward to the weekend.  I've been working on some baby shower cards and some bridal shower invitations so I've been a little MIA recently!

We have a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of the fabulous Cindy Hall!  I really love her sketch this week!  It is super versatile!!!  I needed a card for my dearest husband for his birthday.  He took one step closer to 40 this past weekend.  Hard to believe that we've known each other since we were 11!

I wanted a nice manly card!  My husband and gears just go hand in hand!  When we were in the US a few weeks ago I picked up this adorable embossing folder at Hobby Lobby!  For us Canadians, Hobby Lobby is our dream store!!!  My fabulous mom bought me the gear dies a long time ago and I just love them for man cards!  Throw in a screw top brad and you've got the perfect card for a mechanical engineer!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Basic Grey, Real Red, Whisper White, Silver (unknown source...it was in my scrap stash!)
DSP: Basic Grey
Stamps: Papertrey Ink (forget the set....)
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Gears Dies, Gears Embossing Folder, Screw Brad (Karen Foster)

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll hopefully have a few cards this weekend for you!!!  Make sure you head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog to check out the design team creations!  They are beautiful! Also make sure you check out the FMS blog next week because yours truly will be debuting her first sketch!!!!

Have a great day!!!
