Paper Players Challenge

 Hello!
How did your day go?  Thursdays are a little chaotic at our house.  I was super excited to take my new Stampin' Up! Catalogue to soccer tonight and peruse through it while I sat on the field for 2 hours!  I poured a lovely hot tea into my travel mug and proceeded to walk out the door without the catalogue...ugh.

I decided to tackle the Paper Players challenge today.  This is my first time with this particular challenge!  LeAnne had a great sketch for this week's challenge.  I sat down with this idea in my head of making the perfect Father's Day card for my husband...I had the airplane stamped and ready to cut out.  Then the doorbell rang and my super nice UPS delivery man showed up with my Stampin' Up! order and once I saw this paper the Father's Day card got pushed aside and I created this thank you card instead.

I love this new Comfort Cafe DSP and the Midnight Muse Cardstock oh and the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set that will be available June 1st (which for most of you will be today!

The new SU catalogue is available today online!  Check it out!  It's full of so many wonderful things!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Midnight Muse, Cajun Craze
DSP: Comfort Cafe
Stamps: Kindness Matters, Betsy's Blossoms
Ink: Midnight Muse, Soft Suede

Colour Q Birthday

Hello!
How is your week going?  It's almost the end!  We had a great day on Wednesday and hung out at a lakefront park with some great friends! My boys had a blast.  I love to see them so happily playing!  The weather was perfect as well - which always helps!

I tackled the Colour Q challenge this week.  I loved the colour combination!  I decided to get out the Field Flowers set since it is one of my favourites (which you probably already know).

I must apologize for the slightly blurry picture.  I'm having a bit of a lens issue...I'm trying to get that figured out!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Stamps: Field Flowers, Up, Up and Away
Ink: Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue
Other: Dimensionals, Curly Label Punch, Rich Razzleberry Taffeta Ribbon

CAS Dad

Hello!
It's almost the middle of the week!  I think at this point I realize I'll survive the week!!  My oldest son has started his vision therapy and it's been very hard on Mommy and on him.  The new exercises really strain his eye muscles and since we do them first thing in the morning he tends to have sore eye muscles and a headache for the rest of the day.  Today was the first day that he said his eyes didn't hurt!  I think we're making some progress.  Almost 1 week done...9 months to go.  Ugh.  Seems daunting right now but we've seen the progress he's made over the last year so we know it's working and worth the pain!

Okay...enough of us!  Today's card is my submission for the CAS-ual Friday's challenge.  It didn't turn out quite as I had envisioned.  That seems to be happening a lot these days!!!

The challenge this week was to create a masculine card using DSP (designer series paper).   The challenge also requires that the card be CAS - clean and simple.

I have "borrowed" my mom's Timeless Type alphabet die set from my mom!  She's the best mom in the world and willingly lends me her stuff whenever I want!  They don't get any better!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
DSP: Nautical Expedition
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Other: Button, Early Espresso Bakers Twine, Timeless type Sizzlets dies

Colour Q Happy Birthday Owl

Hello!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend! We had a wonderful visit with my parents this weekend! My boys were in Grannie and Papa heaven! My youngest whined for most for the afternoon that he wanted to go to Grannie and Papa's house...

I decided to tackle the Colour Q challenge this week. I have only tackled this challenge once before and wanted to give it a whirl again. I apologize now that the photo is a little pale. I took it at night when the lighting was sub par!

I made a card using the "required" colours and absolutely HATED it! Does this happen to anyone else or just me?! I then thought about making a cute little owl since I love the two-step owl punch from Stampin' Up! I must prefer this card to the first one!! Hope you enjoy it as well!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with my Freshly Made Sketches card for this week!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Pool Party, Poppy Parade, More Mustard, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Basic Black (owl eyes)
DSP: A retired SU one....I forget the name
Stamps: Curly Cute
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Pool Party Bakers Twine, Scalloped Circle Punch, Circle Punch, 2-Step Owl Punch, Houndstooth Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Happy Graduation

Hello!
I trust you're having a great week!  Today is going to be a very busy day at our house - the boys have a surprise coming for them that they don't know about!!!  Should be good times!!!

Today's card is a "case" of sorts.  The template comes from Dawn Olchefske.  She did a fabulous video tutorial that you can find here!

I decided to add a graduation owl to the inside of the card...just because I think graduation owls are so cute!!!

I like that I can customize the tassel colour to match a school's colours!

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Basic Grey, More Mustard
Stamps: Congratulations
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Two-Step Owl Punch, Scalloped Oval Punch (wings), Curly Label Punch and Star punch (Mortarboard)

Out of This World

Hello!
I hope you had a great day!  We were back to the grind today.  My youngest and I ran around and did some errands.  He's not a big fan of shopping so let's just say I faced some resistance!

I tackled the CAS-ual Fridays challenge yesterday.  The challenge was pretty simple.  A clean and simple (CAS) card using punches or dies.  I am in need of Father's Day cards still so I decided I would use the challenge to get another card made!

I used the Loved Ones stamp set from Stampin' Up! and some silver embossing powder to create the DAD.  I cut it out afterwards so it would fit better on the punched out shape.

The other stamp set used (rocket and sentiment) is non-SU.

I think this card might be perfect for my boys to give their dad!  It's not an airplane but it does fly!!!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black. Real Red, Pumpkin Pie
Stamps: Loved Ones, Boys Basics - Out of this World (non-SU)
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Houndstooth Embossing Folder, Glitter, Black Pearl, Decorative Label Punch, Rocket Ship die, Dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy 6th Birthday!

Hello!
I hope everyone had a great weekend!  We had a nice long weekend in Canada and we finished up by celebrating my oldest son's 6th birthday today!

I'm sure you all know how much my sweet boy LOVES Lego!  We eat, sleep and breathe Lego here!  I could not, not make a Lego card for him!!!

What started out as an idea in my head turned into a lot of work!  Those pesky little circles took a lot of work to glue on.  Trust me!  Caleb is worth every second of that work though!

My babe had a great birthday and loved getting lots of Lego cards!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Have a great week!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Real Red
Stamps: Loved Ones
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Freshly Made Father's Day

Hello!
How's your week going?   I'm glad it's Friday but man, this week went by quickly and I'm fast approaching party day!  I still can't believe that my oldest is turning 6...how is that possible?  There is still much to do in terms of party preparation so I may not get a card out until Sunday!!!

Today I snuck in a few minutes (okay more than a few minutes!) to tackle this week's Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.

I am going to be in need of a few Fathers's Day cards so I figured I better get a start on them!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler
DSP: Nautical Expedition
Stamps: The Open Sea, Sentiment - non-SU
Ink: Early Espresso
Other: Early Espresso Bakers Twine, Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder,  Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Dimensionals

Mojo Get Well

Hello!  I hope everyone had a great day!  I was busy getting ready for a special someone's birthday party.  Today I was making candy/chocolate Lego Mini Figures and sticking door hangers together!

I tackled the Mojo Monday sketch yesterday.  My husband's dear Grandma recently fell and broke her hip.  She had surgery and is now recovering.  I wanted to send her a little card to wish her well and let her know we're thinking of and praying for her!  I wish we lived a little closer to her so we could deliver this ourselves!
I must say I love the Very Vanilla/Soft Suede colour combination.  I cut out the little bird just to add a bit more dimension.

The rosette is a retired one from a previous mini catalogue but I love them and wish I had more!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
Stamps: Nature Walk, Perfectly Penned
Ink: Soft Suede
Other: Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Very Vanilla Rosette

Thanks for stopping by!  Hopefully I'll have tacked the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for you tomorrow!!!

Teacher Time

Hello!  I hope you've had a great weekend!  For all the mom's out there, I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day.  I had thought we would be spending Mother's Day at the Magic Kingdom in Florida but instead my boys chose to spend the day at Sea World!  I must say (especially to any Florida readers) I LOVE Florida!  I am totally in love with Palm Trees!  Florida's vegetation is incredible and so unlike anything we have here in Canada!  The staff at our hotel were wonderful and super friendly!  The parks we went to were super clean and action packed!  What a great weekend!

That aside...I was supposed to be getting started on Father's Day cards today but I was totally unmotivated.  I had an idea in my head for a card for Caleb's Teacher this year.  My oldest son has the most wonderful Kindergarten teacher!  She has done over and above what is required for these kids and has a group of kids who adore her!

Anyhow, I thought I'd made her a little blackboard card for his teacher.  I used a set from Papertrey Ink that I love for doing Teacher's cards.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Whisper White, Basic Black
Ink: Versamark, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Soft Suede
Stamps: Papertrey Ink
Other: White Embossing Powder, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Staple, Dimensionals, Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

Thanks for stopping by today!
Check back tomorrow for my Mojo Monday card!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello and Happy Mother's Day to you!  I'm a little sad that I'm not celebrating with my mom today BUT I am (or hopefully am) celebrating my 5th Mother's Day at the Happiest Place on Earth!

This is the card that I made for my mom for Mother's Day.  I have been blessed with the perfect mom...no seriously.  She is my best friend!  Don't get me wrong, we don't always get along perfectly but we are perfect for each other!

I'm not sure if she would have received this card on time.  I never know with the postal system how long cards will take!

My mom and I LOVE tea and have a deeper love for tea cups and pots!  I love the Tea Shoppe set and knew that I somehow had to incorporate it into her card!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla
DSP: Everyday Enchantment
Stamps: Tea Shoppe
Ink: Soft Suede
Other: Dimensionals, Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Dots Embossing Folder, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder

Happy Mother's Day Mom!  I love you!!!

Digital Door Hangers

Hello!
I hope everyone has had a good start to their weekend!

A quick post today and not a card!  I have been taking Heather Summers' course on using My Digital Studio (you can still sign up here!).  Heather has been giving us fabulous tutorials on all things digital!

Heather made a fabulous door hanger for her daughter's room and I thought that making Lego door hangers would be a fabulous loot bag treasure for a certain someone's upcoming Lego party!

These babies are super easy to make using the My Digital Studio software.  I can't wait to get them printed and show you a picture of the finished product!  My son is still too young to have a "Keep Out" side so I figured I would make it more age appropriate but still fun!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Birthday Lego (again...)

Hello!
I hope everyone had a great day!  Friday has arrived finally!  If you're like me, when you hit Friday you breathe a huge sigh of relief!

Today's card is very simple but will have a HUGE effect on the recipient (who happens to be my soon to be 6 year old)!

My dad requested a card for my oldest who is turning 6 in just over a week (how can that be?  Wasn't he just born yesterday?).  Well, I'm sure you remember me saying once or twice that Caleb LOVES Lego.

I was having a hard time thinking of yet another Lego card BUT then it hit me...why not make a giant Lego block for him!  It's simple but he'll love it.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Whisper White
Stamps: Loved Ones
Ink: Basic Black, Pacific Point
Other: 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

Mojo Purses

Hello!
Lots going on around our house. Did I mention my husband is on vacation at home this week?  Hmmm...I am thankful that he is able to take a break from work and relax but I'm thinking I might be finding it a little stressful for me!

I had a request for a card for a special little 5 year old who really loves purses and make up! I still can't believe this little princess is going to be turning 5!

Anyhow, I used the Mojo Monday Sketch to start this card out.  The Mojo Monday blog is a great way to get started if you're looking for a sketch challenge.

Hope you're having a great week so far!

Thanks for stopping by!

Button Buddies Birthday

Hello!
Sorry for a few days of silence.  I have been trying to catch up on a few card orders!  Plus last night I was busy browsing the new Stampin' Up! Catalogue online...oh it was lovely!

It's been a busy week here.    My husband is on vacation this week...it's a bit of an adjustment for me to have him at home (to say the least!).

I wanted to post the original card I had made for the Freshly Make Sketches challenge this week.  I didn't quite feel the love with this card and so I made the one I posted the other night!

I will have a new card for you tomorrow night!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Freshly Made Butterfly Trio

Hello!
I hope that everyone is having a great weekend!  I was able to spend a few minutes in the workshop this afternoon creating...I tackled the Freshly Made Sketches challenge today.

Jen had a great sketch this week!  I actually took a couple of go's at it before I came up with a card that I was happy with!  Is that sad?!

You can't tell in the first picture but I decided to cut out each of the butterflies and attached them with a glue dot so they look like they're fluttering off the page!

I will post my "other" card tomorrow!  No laughing though okay?!

Have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by!

More Field Flowers!

Hello!
Hope everyone survived their Wednesday! Both my youngest son and I are battling a little cold so I found card making today a little challenging!

I have some exciting news! My Best Wishes Hearts card (featured on Sunday) won this week's Queen of Clean on Freshly Make Sketches! I am very excited and very honoured to have been chosen by Linda!

Here is a card I made similar to yesterday's. I really do love Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder together. I didn't find this card as truly Clean and Simple as I wanted but I still do enjoy the final result!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Stamps: Field Flowers, Apothecary Art

Supplies:
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Stamps: Field Flowers, Petite Pairs
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeade
