CAS in Rich Razzleberry

Hello!  Okay, so I didn't fall off the face of the earth....it may just seem that way!  I have been busily working on some wedding invitations for a friend that I finished a few minutes ago.  They really have consumed my life for the last two weeks.  I had a minute today to work on a card before I picked up the last piece of the invitations.

I decided to give the CAS card challenge on Splitcoast stampers this week (CAS159)!  The challenge this week was just colours - Rich Razzleberry and White!  I love rich razzleberry.   I don't use it too often so it was fun to get it out and play along!

I made the bottom card first and wasn't happy so I decided to try the top one and was happier with the results!

Supplies (top card):
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Stamps: Fresh Vintage, Petite Pairs
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Other: Rich Razzleberry Taffeta Ribbon, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Basic Rhinestones

Freshly Made Sketches and Lego!

 Hello!
So thankful that it is almost the weekend!  I have just picked up some paper to start on some wedding invitations so the weekend is going to be invitation central here!  Not sure how many cards will get done!

Anyhow, I wanted to do up a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge this week!  I really liked Jennifer's sketch this week and when I see blocks now I think only one thing....LEGO!  My oldest son is going to have a Lego birthday party this year for his 6th birthday so I decided to work ahead and make a great card for his little brother to give him!

I also wanted to give the Loved Ones stamp set a try.   This stamp set is in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalogue!

Supplies (for my Lego card):
Cardstock:  Pacific Point, Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red, Daffodil Delight
Stamps: Loved Ones
Ink: Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Basic Black
Other: 1/2" Circle Punch

The card below is one my mom made for my oldest son for Valentine's Day!  My mom is so creative!  Caleb's eyes lit up when he saw this card.  He was so happy!  Lego cards are so fun and they can really delight a little person's heart so much!  Thanks so much mom!!!  Caleb sure loves you!

Soaring Wishes

Hello!

I'm a little slow at getting around to my challenges from last week and this week!  I'm so ashamed!!!  It has been a crazy week and it's only going to get crazier!

The current CAS-ual Fridays challenge was to create a CAS (Clean and Simple) card using paper piecing.  I immediately thought of the "Send Me Soaring" stamp set from the Stampin' Up Occasions Mini Catalogue.  I knew one of the kites and the clouds would be perfect to use.

For anyone who doesn't understand paper piecing...that's when you cut out little pieces of paper (or big pieces depending on your image) and glue them into a stamped image.  I stamped the kite image first on my cardstock then again on my DSP and cut out the pieces and the glued them onto the stamped image on my cardstock.  I also stamped the cloud images on my whisper white cardstock and cut them out.  I realized after I finished my card that kites were a popular theme for this particular challenge!

If you're thinking that this card looks a lot like yesterday's card...it does...I'm sorry.  The kites just seemed to fit into the similar background I had used for my airplane valentine!

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
DSP: Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight (Patterns Stack)
Stamps:  Send Me Soaring, Up Up and Away
Ink: Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue
Other: Lattice Embossing Folder

Up in the Air

Hello!
How was your Valentine's Day?  I had a great day!  It started out by helping out in the Kindergarten class and cooking pancakes while crouching on the floor in the hall!  I made some chocolate covered strawberries for dessert tonight.  They were delicious.  My youngest loved them so much he devoured them stem and all...my husband and I have never laughed so hard!

I wanted to post a picture of the Valentine's Day card I made for my husband!  I also made it for a customer's husband who also loves airplanes!  The Create a Cupcake Punch makes perfect clouds!

I thought I would post a picture of my husband's "baby".  This is his Pitt's Biplane.  He built it himself (from instructions which happened to be in German).  He did an amazing job and this plane has been featured in several Remote Control Airplane magazines!

I should say that my oldest son considers this plane his!  The love of planes runs deep in our family!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, Whisper White
Stamps: Up, Up and Away, Airplane (non SU)
Ink: Real Red, Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, Basic Grey
Other: Create a Cupcake Punch,  Circle Punches, Scalloped Edge Trimmer (non-SU), Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, Textured Lattice Embossing Folder

Cup of Love

Hello!
I must apologize for being MIA for the last few days!  I've been filling card orders and that has taken up a lot of my time!  I am also about to fill a wedding invitation order so I may be sporadic over the next couple of weeks!

So Valentine's Day!  Who doesn't love it?!  My husband and I will be celebrating our 16th Valentine's Day together!  Hard to believe I was only 18 when we started dating!

This isn't the card I made for my husband but the one I made for my mom and dad and for my son's teacher.  My parents and I love tea and one of my favourite things is to have tea with my parents!  I figured this was perfect.  I pinned it on Pinterest and will post the link tomorrow!

My son's teacher, Mrs. Cooper is a lovely lady who starts each day with a coffee from McDonald's.  I don't blame her!  My son wrote her a little one on one side of the insert and we attached a McDonald's gift card to the other side.

Thanks for stopping by!

Freshly Made Apothecary!

My card didn't exactly turn out the way I thought it was going to.  This wasn't at all the card I had in my head when I started.  I'm probably going to give it another whirl later this week...I guess that would be tomorrow wouldn't it?!

Anyhow, the new Apothecary stamp set and the Framelits Labels Dies are so fun to work with!

Be My Valentine

Hello!

Just wanted to let you know that I'm currently offering ribbon shares.  If you go to the tab just under the title bar you'll see "Ribbon Shares".  Click there to see all the details!

Wanted to post a little Valentine's Day card I made! This is a total CASE of Mary Fish's (Stampin' Pretty) card that she made.  I changed a couple of things but pretty much copied it!  I thought it was a wonderfully colourful, fun card!

I used the new Melon Scented Embossing Powder on this card for the stamped heart! I really do love the smell!  How fun is it to have a scratch and sniff card?!  I must say I thought Mary did a fabulous job of designing this card!  So much fun to CASE!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Lucky Limeade, Peach Parfait, Pool Party
DSP: Everyday Enchantment
Stamps: PS I Love You
Ink: Red Riding Hood
Other: Lucky Limeade Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Full Heart Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Edgelit Dies, Edgelit Embossing Folder, Heart Dies (non-SU).

Apothecary Art

Hi!
Oh, another week starts soon.  I'm not sure I'm ready for this!  We don't have a lot of extra stuff this week so it should be relatively easy but I'm always a bit sad when the weekend comes to an end!

I wanted to try out the Apothecary Art stamp set and the new (and fabulous) Framelits Dies (Labels Collection) from Stampin' Up!

I picked an old sketch from Freshly Made Sketches to start with and then ran with it!  I wanted to use the Edgelits Dies and Embossing Folders are well so the sketch I chose worked perfectly!

A little trick I learned when using the Framelits dies (with or without a stamped image).  Use a post-it note to hold it in place when running your "sandwich" through the Big Shot.  The post-it note doesn't mark your paper or smudge your ink but keeps your paper snuggly in place!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Red Riding Hood, Basic Black, Whisper White
DSP: Twitterpated
Stamps: Apothecary Art
Ink: Basic Black
Other: Polka Dot Ribbon, Edgelits die, Edgelits Embossing Folder, Framelits Dies (Labels), Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by!

Twitterpated Birthday

Hello!
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  We had some beautiful weather here in Southern Ontario today!  It was almost spring-like this morning.  My three boys (including my husband!) were outside driving around their monster truck!  I must say they were some cute!!

I tackled the Freshly Made Sketches challenge today.  I wanted to give the Mixed Punch stamp set a whirl again along with the new Twitterpated DSP.

The centre of the flower (not the brad) I stamped using the new clear Melon scented embossing powder.  It smells just like watermelon!  It's delicious!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Basic Grey, Whisper White, Pear Pizazz, Red Riding Hood
DSP: Twitterpated
Stamps: Mixed Bunch, Apothecary Art
Ink: Red Riding Hood, Basic Grey, Versamark
Other: Blossom Punch, Pleated Satin Ribbon, Petal Die,  Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Glimmer Brad

Birthday Gift Card Holder

Hello!
Today is my husband's birthday!  I didn't want to post pictures of his card too soon incase he decided to check it out!  He can be a little bit nosey at times!!!  Anyhow, I was directed towards a great tutorial on Dawn's Stamping Studio to make this cute little card!   Thanks mom for pointing me in the right direction!  What would I do without her?!

I showed my 5 year old son the card I made and he look at it, turned up his nose.  I asked if he liked it.  His response was that he did like it but it needed an airplane!  My husband LOVES airplanes!  He builds remote controls airplanes.  Not little ones either!  We're talking 12 foot wing span airplanes!  My kids eat, breathe and sleep airplanes too!  I didn't quite getting to add in an airplane so I guess the card wasn't exactly perfect!

Supplies (for this card):
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla
DSP: Well Worn, Early Espresso DSP
Stamps: Happiest Birthday Wishes
Ink: Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake

(I didn't give my hubby a Tim Horton's gift card...it just happened to be the only one I could find to work in this card!)

So, I really enjoyed the first card I made so I wanted to make another more girly card!
Yes, it is the Everyday Enchantment DSP again!!!  I love it, I can't help it!

I also love the new Mixed Bunch stamp set and coordinating Blossom punch!  I do enjoy how this card turned out!

I know, another Tim Horton's gift card!  Maybe we should start using them!

Card Sketch Challenge Tea Cups

 Hello!
I had a few minutes this afternoon to start on a card...not the card I need to be working on but a card none the less.  I used the sketch from Splitcoaststampers Card Sketch Challenge (SC370).  The example sketch has an optional front panel/pocket which I decided I would try to incorporate.

It all started out well until I realized that no one would probably realize they are to untie the knot to open the panel!  Perhaps a little tag indicating "Open" is in order!!!

I do love the new Tea Shoppe stamp set from Stampin' Up!  For anyone who truly knows me, you know how much I LOVE tea, tea cups and tea pots!

Well, I did bootcamp two nights in a row and I'm feeling much like rubber...maybe even worse than rubber!  I think closer to spaghetti!

Supplies:
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral
DSP: Everyday Enchantment
Stamps: Tea Shoppe
Ink: Calypso Coral, Crump Cake, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade
Other: Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals, Vintage Wall Paper Embossing Folder, Modern Label Punch
