Jacob's 2nd Birthday

Jacob opening his birthday gift from me! His "ABC" book. A little book with pictures that are relevant to him teaching him what words start with A,B,C, etc. My oldest son Caleb has one and Jacob loved it so I finally decided to finish the one I started for him before he was born.

Christmas Card Workshops

Good Wednesday Afternoon!
I hope everyone is having a good week so far.

I wanted to let everyon know (or remind those who already did) that I'll be hosting two Christmas Card workshops this year. One will be in Pembroke, Ontario on Saturday October 16th and the other will be in Burlington, Ontario on Saturday November 13th.
Details are located in the ad to the left (this is the ad for Pembroke however the same applies for Burlington).

Cost for the day is: $5
RSVP deadline is September 1st.

There are two options for the card workshop. You can bring your own design and supplies OR you can purchase one of my pre-made card kits. These kits will come cut ready to stamp and assemble.

If you choose to bring your own design and supplies - please note that you need to bring ALL of your own supplies. My stamp sets won't be available for use (as those who purchase pre-cut kits will be using them).

If you choose a pre-cut kit, you can choose from any design of Christmas card found in the post directly below this one or in the post dated July 24th. Beside each card is a description of the supplies needed and a cost per card. There is a minimum 5 card/design purchase. If your card requires paint, glitter or embossing powder - you will be charged an extra $1 per 10 cards. The price listed is just for supplies. If you purchase a pre-cut kit there will be a $2 per 10 cards order for me to actually cut your supplies added to your total.

The cost per card includes the card backing and envelope.

Card designs can be changed - for example if the card is red and green and you want it pink and brown we can work together to change that. You will see quite a wide range of pricing for the cards. Cards that include ribbon or patterned paper are more expensive.

RSVP deadline (including card order) is September 1st.
Seats at the Burlington Workshop are limited so reserve your seat quickly if you haven't already done so!

Sympathy Cards

I find Sympathy cards really stressful to make. I don't know why. I guess because I don't always have one on hand and making them usually means someone that I care about has passed away.
This card is for my Aunt. My uncle passed away today and I knew I would need a sympathy card. I saw this one online and knew it would be the right card.

Supplies:
Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake
Ink: Versamark, Chocolate Chip
Stamps: Medallion, Out on a Limb Sentiments (non SU!)
Other: White Embossing Powder, Halfback pearl, Chocolate chip Satin ribbon

Clean and Simple Challenge

I decided to check out this week's "Clean and Simple" Challenge and really enjoyed the sketch (or card they work from). I am really a clean and simple card maker and find the more "full" cards not really me.
My time these days is a little limited and so I wanted something that I could do quickly.
I do enjoy the final product!

Baby Quilt Inspiration

One of my friends is due with her first child in October. She's expecting a little girl and posted some pictures of the baby's nursery recently. As soon as I saw her quilt I knew that I wanted to make a card for this precious bundle using the quilt as inspiration. I really enjoy how the card turned out though I'm a little bummed that I thought the little pink squares were white...Oh well.

Hope you enjoy the finished product!

Moving

Ladybug Designs is moving! Well, at least my family and I are moving and we'll be taking Ladybug Designs with us! We'll be moving from Terrebonne, Quebec to Burlington, Ontario. The move will be taking place early in September. I may be a little out of commission for a while but will have cards up and running again once we're settled. Please be patient while I get myself organized in our new home and get my 4 year old off to school!

New cards

Well I decided that I needed to get my mind off a few things and wanted to work on something other than Christmas cards so I headed down to create masterpieces...unfortunately I don't always create the masterpiece I dream of!

I had fun working on these cards and that's all that matters! Some materials used are from the new holiday mini (available Sept 1st) while most other stuff is from the 2010-2011 IBC from Stampin' Up!
Hope you enjoy!
