New Store and New Catalogue

Hello!
I apologize greatly for not posting much lately. I've been a busy elf getting card packs ready for Christmas. I don't want to publish pictures since that will let the cat out of the bag and spoil the Christmas surprise for those receiving card packs!

I wanted to let you know about my new store! I have been using "Shophandmade.com" but have switched over to using a new blog to sell my cards. If you click on the "Ladybug Designs" logo to the right of this blog it will take you directly do the new site where you can directly purchase my cards using paypal. The cards are all priced in $CAD.

I will be adding new cards over the next few days as I get some pictures taken of my stock so please be patient as I get this new site up and running.

I also want to let you know that the Stampin' UP! Occassions catalogue will be arriving in mailboxes shortly and will be available online January 4th. It is full of fabulous new products and as you may have heard SU! will be introducing acrylic blocks in this catalogue! I'm pumped.

I will post some cards for you tomorrow!

Here is the sketch for this week's "Sketch Challenge"

I needed a card to send to my aunt who just found out she's going to be a grandma! I'm very excited for her and thought this week's sketch challenge would provide the perfect template to work from. Try out your own card for fun and let me know how it goes!

I must admit I love flowers and butterflies so this card is a fav of mine! I do love the Garden Greetings stamp set - though not in the current Stampin' Up! catalogue, it is still on the dormant list and available for order.

Mojo 111 - Get Well Soon

This week's sketch looks easy but I don't have a lot of "big" stamps to fill the space up. I fell back on one of my all time favourites - my tea pots! I don't have any "Get Well Soon" cards on hand and know so many people that are sick right now.
The card came together pretty quickly - not one of my best but I like it and hope it would cheer someone up!

Supplies:
Paper: Old Olive, Real Red, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Patterned Paper (Chatterbox)
Ink: Old Olive, Real Red
Stamps: Tea for Two (I forget the name...)

Have you tried the Mojo Monday sketch yet? It's fun and a great way to get some cards made in a hurry!

Thursday Cards!

I am pretty impressed that I got some cards made today despite feeling kinda blah and uncreative. I was going through a recent PaperCrafts magazine and found some great designs that I had to case. Most of today's supplies are non-Stampin' Up! so I won't even list them...all inks are Stampin' Up! though.

Hope you enjoy the cards!
Happy Thursday!

Card Sketch Challenge

Okay so I'm totally impressed with myself for getting the Wednesday Card Sketch Challenge done on Wednesday! I feel like I'm catching a cold so I decided to work on the card at nap time while watching last night's NCIS and NCIS LA online!!!

So here is today's sketch...you can do whatever design you want and even change the sketch up a little...this is just to get you started.

This is my card...it looks really dark in the picture. We don't have a lot of sunlight today and my flash makes the card look really white. I really like the "Season of Simple Grace" stamp set by Stampin' Up!. It makes some wonderful Christmas cards.

Supplies:
Paper: Real Red, Very Vanilla, Merry Moments DSP
Stamps: Season of Simple Grace, All Holidays
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Garden Green
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, Snowflake button

Mojo Monday 109

I'm pretty impressed that it's Tuesday and I'm posting my Mojo Monday card! I have been feeling rather uncreative lately and had a hard time coming up with a card to go with this week's sketch.

I've added in this week's sketch so you can see where I start from and can try to come up with some cards of your own.

I haven't made baby cards recently and needed to have a few on hand so this is what I've come up with. The waves are created using the punched out piece from the Scallop Border Bunch. I inked them with Blue Bayou Ink (Retired) to make them stand out a bit more. You can also cut waves freehand or use scallop-edged scissors.

Supplies:
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Blue Bayou, Whisper White, Patterned Paper
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Blue Bayou, So Saffron
Stamps: Nursery Necessities
Accessories: Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Scallop Border Punch, Brown Brads

Christmas Wish Lists

Christmas is fast approaching. This afternoon I put the finishing touches on my Christmas card tops (they still need to be attached to the actual cards) and was quite proud of myself! I have purchased a few gifts already and feel a bit more organized than last year!

If you're like me, you like to receive gifts that you REALLY want for Christmas. I love getting card making or scrapbooking supplies. I usually have a list of items that I don't want to buy myself but would love to find under the tree.

If you have browsed through a copy of the Stampin' Up! catalogue or the Holiday Mini and think there are a few things in there that make your heart beat faster, jot them down and send them to me. I can work with you to create your perfect holiday wish list.

Things I need to know:
  • Your name
  • Item (s) and item codes
  • Circulation List (who you want the list sent to)
  • Special dates you want the list to be circulated for

It's quite simple and really - aren't card making supplies the gift that keeps on giving??!!!!

Wish Lists need to be submitted to me by October 31st so that I can ensure all orders arrive in time for the holidays.

Please send wish list information to:

ladybugdesigns1@gmail.com

Challenge cards...finally!

Okay so I'm a terrible blogger! I don't know where the past week and a bit has gone! We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with my best friend and her family her in Terrebonne and had a fabulous time together. I must admit I miss living 10 minutes away from her more than anything else! I also miss our Friday night scrapbook sessions...though we did pretty well this past weekend!

I have three challenge cards plus an extra one I made up. I'm slow but they're done!

Last week's Sketch Challenge is first (SC249).

Supplies:
Paper: Basic Black, Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant and Patterned Paper that I can't talk about!
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes and a Halloween set I can't talk about!
Accessories: Orange Ribbon and brads

This is this week's sketch challenge card (sc250).

Supplies:
Paper: Baja Breeze (though it might be something that I can't remember), Burgundy Cardstock and Patterned paper I can't talk about!
Stamps: Circle Circus, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Baja Breeze
Accessories: Flowers, Brads, Word Window Punch and Modern Label Punch

This is this week's MOJO Monday card (MOJO108). I must say I like this one. I like the colours and I enjoy working with this stamp set (Garden Greetings). It's fun and though not in the current catalogue it is on the "Dormant List" and still available for order.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo, Patterned Paper, Whisper White
Stamps: Garden Greetings
Ink: Melon Mambo, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Certainly Celery Ribbon, Flowers, Button, Floss, Glitter/glue

I "cased" this Halloween card because I like how clean and simple it is. I like clean and simple - they're usually quick and easy and since I usually only have nap time to make cards I tend to gravitate towards things that are quick and easy...I must admit my home decor is quite the same...!

Supplies:
Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White
Stamps: One set I can't talk about, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon (I LOVE this ribbon), Orange button and floss, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch
